Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER: W9126G-08-D-0057-0003 This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because this is a task/delivery order where an exception to fair opportunity requirements was approved as this is a follow-on order to a competitive initial order (FAR 8.405-6(b)(2) or 16.505(b)(2)(iii). Provide demolition of the existing generators and portions of the electrical distribution system, installation of a new generator and electrical distribution system components, and testing. The new generator shall be adequately sized to serve fire safety and critical operation systems. Remove the automatic transfer switch (ATS) that are no longer in use and evaluate the existing main switch gear to determine if it can be reused or needs to be replaced. The emergency power system (generators, switchboard, and transfer switches) shall be modified to incorporate only one emergency generator and one emergency power circuit to feed egressligheing, vcertain mechanical loads (to be determined) to preserve the building in the event of an extended power outage, fire alarm and security panels, the emergency room, and the server room, the laboratory, and immunizations. No other loads are authoized and the generator and transfer equipment shall be sized to meet the required loads. Remove all unused equipment and raceways. The government intends to ship the existing generators to other bases. As an option, prepare the two existing generators for shipment to other military bases. Another alternate price will be proposed to reuse one of the existing 500kW generators, although we do not recommend this option because of the age of the existing generator and because the existing generator would be significantly underloaded during actual outages.
