Description
NOAA's National Environmental and Satellite Data Information Service (NESDIS) has a requirement for the Operation, Maintenance, and Technical Support at NOAA/NESDIS Command and Data Acquisition Station near Fairbanks, AK. The Government maintains a Command and Data Acquisition Station at Fairbanks, Alaska for the primary purpose of acquiring meteorological and environmental satellite mission data from polar-orbiting satellites managed and/or operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC). This facility is NOAA's primary data acquisition facility for its polar-orbiting operational environmental satellites. The Station characteristics are a high northern latitude, elevation, and remote location that combine to set Fairbanks aside as the premier data read-out site. The site is located about 13.5 miles northeast of Fairbanks, AK. The services required for this procurement are currently being provided by a Contractor. The Fairbanks CDA Station is a National Critical Asset and therefore must remain operational on a continuous basis year round. The selected Contractor will be responsible for continuing these services by supporting the project management, administrative, operations and maintenance, and technical requirements of the CDAS at Fairbanks, AK, exclusive of identified Governmental functions, for all missions and projects of the station. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed-price services contract for the work. The Contract's Period of Performance is expected to be a base period of one year, with four one-year option periods. This procurement will be accomplished using full and open competition. All responsible and fully responsive sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the Agency. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed-price contract. Solicitation documents will be made available for download on or about July 30, 2010 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued. Interested parties should use the FedBizOpps [Add To Watchlist] and [Add Me To Interested Vendors] features which provide a notification when the RFP becomes available for download as well as all postings of information associated with this solicitation, thereafter. Each potential bidder is responsible for checking the FedBizOpps website to gain all current information related to the solicitation. The solicitation and any further announcements regarding the solicitation will be posted only at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. The estimated response due date is August 31, 2010; however, the actual date offers are due will be stated within the solicitation documents. Any questions regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing via e-mail to the Contract Specialist, Will Havens at william.e.havens@noaa.gov. All vendors doing business with the Government are required to be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR, please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov/. In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award from this acquisition office, all bidders must also have a Dun & Bradstreet Number.
