Description
The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intent to procure Bioinformatic Analysis service of BGI-Hongkong Co., LTD for whole-genome sequencing. NIDDK wants to have the whole genome of one Pima Indian sequenced at a very high level of completeness. To do this we want to have the sequencing done at 90x coverage (using Solexa or its equivalent). We will provide ~5 micrograms of DNA for the sequencing and expect to receive the complete sequence data in finalized format as well as the raw sequence data (not image files). Bioinformatics Analysis service: Assembely of consensus sequences; SNP detection and distribution; InDel detection and distribution and Structure variation detection and distribution. Deliverables:BGI will analyze accepted samples using Illumina's Solexa technology. BGI will analyze and provide the following information in two and a half MONTHS upon the successful pass of sample QC: (1) Guaranteed 270 Gb sequence data for one human genome samples; (2) Advanced bioinformatics analysis through BGI's pipelines including: a. Assembly of consensus sequencesb. Comparison with other ethnic genomes and difference identification; (3) Data delivery will be through BGI's FTP site or hard disk (If hard disk delivery is chosen, chosen, collaborator will pay the hard disk and shipping cost); (4) Data including the complete sequence data in finalized format as well as the raw sequence data. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations however; all responses received within 15 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 541712 the business size standard is 500. This acquisition is being conducted using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. All responsible businesses that are capable of providing the Government with the service listed above may download a copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation will be issued on or about July 27, 2010. Offerors can view and/or download the solicitation at www.fbo.gov when it becomes available. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE PROVIDED. Notification of any amendments to the solicitation will only be made at the Federal Business Opportunities website.
