- This publication serves as notice of intent to procure supplies for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Services (NOS), Field Operations Division in Seattle, WA on a sole source basis with Paroscientific, Inc. The government intends to acquire services using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Proposed vendor will provide 10 pressure sensors for operational installation on temporary water level gauges for use in support of VDatum analysis (Paroscientific Part # 1612-002, Model 6000-30G, Digiquartz Prescision Gauge Pressure Transmitter. Pressure Range: 0-30 PSIG, RS-232/485 Bi-Directional Interface Nylon Buffer Tubing, Non-Oil Filled). Paroscientific, Inc. was identified by program office as the only source that can meet the technical requirement of this procurement because these sensors are necessary to ensure data compatibility with other NOAA data gathered using these sensors. No other known vendor can provide compatible sensors. The government intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract with a delivery date of September 6, 2010. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation package is available. However, firms that believe they can provide equipment that fully meets the Government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation, such as the specifications of your product, in writing to the identified point of contact within 10 days after the publication of this notice. Such documentation will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
