Description
The Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) is soliciting proposals to enter into a license agreement which the successful offeror will establish and operate a casual dining restaurant near the Navy Exchange Pearl Harbor Mall at Naval Station Pearl Harbor in Hawaii in accordance with the attached solicitation. It is our desire to establish an agreement for a nationally known casual dining restaurant that would best complement food service alternatives in the area, considering not only the immediate market area, but the island of Oahu as a whole. The desired restaurant will be located in an extremely high traffic area of Oahu located across the parking lot from the Navy Exchange ("the Mall"), the flag ship store in the Navy Exchange system, and the Commissary, existing retail facilities that presently generate annual sales of approximately $197 million and $91 million, respectively. There are five million customer visits to the Mall per year, a customer base of not only Navy patrons, but 60% of which consists of Army, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard shoppers. There is a high concentration of military housing in the area, three Navy Exchange gas stations that generate $27 million in annual sales and various high sales volume food outlets in adjacent malls (Moanaula, Pearlridge) including a Chili's and a Ruby Tuesdays. The Navy Exchange also plans to construct and open additional retail facilities nearby in 2012, a furniture store and an auto service station, at a combined estimated cost of $55 million.
