- Description
- The mission of the USDI BIA OTS DFWFM Branch of Forest Resources Planning (BOFRP) is to have forest management plans on every acre of forested land held in trust status by the Bureau of Indian Affairs for client Tribes. Due to a shortage of BIA and Tribal forestry staff available for this type of project work in the Southern Plains Region of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the only way that this planning can be practically accomplished is by a qualified and competent forest planning contractor (professional forester) who has the ability to offer services and receive payment on a per planning component basis. The Alabama-Coushatta reservation has approximately 5,000 acres forest land in South east Texas. The Forest Management Plan Project will consist of four planning components. The total cost of the project will be the sum of the four following planning components. On a planning component basis, the contractor will provide the following forestry services and associated digital and hardcopy output (forest management Plan and Environmental Document) for the Alabama-Coushatta forest land in trust status. 1.Delineate stand boundaries on digital orthoquads2.Match existing timber cruise data to mapped timber stands3.Use inventory data and stand maps to prepare forest management plan4.Prepare appropriate environmental document
