Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): Dix Corporation, W912BV-10-C-1013 As part of Operations and Maintenance, Army, Recovery Act, this modification is issued to Dix Corporation to perform the following described work: The 10 gauge plates on the bottom of the north and south gantry platform girders are to be removed and discarded. The angle support framing will be cleaned of rust in all areas where these plates attach. New plates will be cut and fit to the same size and welded into place. The bottom 4 feet of the access ladder is bent inward creating a safety hazard during access and egress. Shop drawings will be drafted to re-fabricate this section of ladder as originally built. The bent section will be cut off and a new section will be fabricated in the shop, shipped to site, and welded on in its place. The ladder cage (back stop) on the east access ladder is crushed to the point of not allowing access to the east crane legs. Shop drawings will be drafted to re-fabricate this section of cage as originally built. The bent section will be cut off and the new cage section welded in its place. The top of the access ladder at the gantry upper deck level does not extend beyond the floor. A section of ladder or vertical grab bars shall be designed and manufactured to extend the latter 42 inches above the platform. The ladder section will be either welded on or bolted on to be removable if needed. he roof hatch support angles and flat bar around the roof hatch frame are rusted completely through. These pieces are to be replaced. Other areas are severely rusted and the rust will be cleaned and removed to help ensure proper seal of the roof hatch.
