- The U.S. Department of agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid South Area, intends to issue a firm fixed price contract for a project entitled Renovation of MAFES Greenhouse Bays. The work includes but is not limited to furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and perform all work in strict accordance with the specifications for Building No. 6, Greenhouse Renovations, USDA, ARS, Crop Genetics and Production Research Unit, Stoneville, Mississippi 38776; and in accordance with provisions of Contract Documents. The period of performance is 110 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000. SET-ASIDE: This acquisition will be SET-ASIDE as a total Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible businesses meeting the requirement may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS code is 236220 and the annual size standard under the Small Business Competiveness Demonstration Program for this project is 33.5 million. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website at www.fedbizopps.gov on or about 07/26/2010. No paper copies of the solicitation will be issued. It is the responsibility of the contractor to check the website for the solicitation, as well as any amendments that may arise. A pre-bid site visit is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 6 at 10:00 AM CST at the USDA, ARS, 141 Experiment Station Road, Stoneville, Mississippi 38776. It is highly recommended and strongly encouraged that all prospective bidders visit the project site, inspect and observe the site conditions, and review the project scope and requirements at the site prior to submission of bid. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. Bids will be due by 2:30 PM CST on August 26, 2010 (at the address shown in the solicitation package), unless the due date has been changed in the solicitation. Contractors are required to be actively registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR).
