Description
RECOVERY ACT THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY.OPTIMAL SYNTHESIS INC. WAS COMPETITIVELY SELECTED UNDER NASA RESEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT.NASA Ames Research Center has committed support for specific efforts under the AmericanRecovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.Recovery Act funds for NASAs Aviation SafetyProgram Research funded by the Recovery Act. The NASA Research Announcement (NRA), NNH09ZEA001N-VVFCS1, sought proposals that focus onaging and damage processes in new aircraft designs and young aircraft, rather than lifeextension of legacy vehicles. There is an emphasis on new and emerging materialsystems/fabrication techniques and the potential hazards associated with aging-relateddegradation. The scope and technical content for the Aircraft Aging and Durability (AAD) Project wasdeveloped to accomplish two objectives: (1) deliver technology to address specificend-user problems and (2) develop fundamental technology (not isolated to a singleapplication) to enable integrated tools. NASA Ames Research Center intends to issue a contract entitled CompositionalVerification for Flight Critical Systems, to develop algorithms for verification offlight critical systems, which will allow NASA to perform verification tasks that arecurrently beyond the state-of-the-art.The proposal was previously submitted in response to a NASA Research AnnouncementNNH09ZEA001N-VVFCS1, Research Opportunities in Aeronautics (ROA) 2009 issued April 13,2009.This effort will be performed by Carnegie Mellon University, authorized under theAmerican Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This announcement will not result in a Request for Proposal; this announcement is forinformational purposes only. All questions and/or concerns must be submitted to the point of contact contained hereinin writing via e-mail to the following address: Janessa.M.Schantin@nasa.gov. Anombudsman has been appointed.
