Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking quotes from sources having the ability to provide automated cash card loaders, magnetic card readers with receipt printers, and magnetic card stripes to be utilized with the debit card meal ticket program in the BOP facilities' food services department at various BOP Institutions throughout the United States including Hawaii and Puerto Rico. The is a firm-fixed unit price requirements type contract. The commodities are an estimated number for the one-year base period and possible four (4) one-year option periods. The solicitation shall be set aside for small businesses. Performance period under this contract will be for a one-year base period from Date of Award through twelve (12) months with four (4) possible one-year option periods. The following commodities will be needed for this requirement: 1. Automated Cash Card Loader: Terminal used to encode credits to the debit card meal ticket, shall be located in an area easily accessible by employees. It is used to encode credits on the debit card and accepts currency in denominations of $1, $5, $10, and $20. When the employee inserts the debit card and the currency into the terminal, the Automated Cash Card Loader encodes the debit card with the amount of currency. As an option the unit may include a card dispenser. The unit can be table-top or wall mounted and shall have reporting capabilities. The Automated Cash Card Loader must be ideal for use in busy locations where staff time is at a premium and self service is a requirement. This system shall be configured to read the existing Magnetic Stripe Cards currently in use by the BOP. Terminals will be installed in BOP locations throughout the U.S., including Puerto Rico and Hawaii. Estimated Quantities are 20 Each for each one-year base period and four (4) possible one year option periods 2. Card Reader and Receipt Printer: The terminal is utilized to deduct amounts from the debit card meal ticket. This terminal and printer shall be located in the staff dining area or in a protected area easily accessible to staff. Each time the debit card is inserted into the Card Reader and Receipt Printer terminal, it will deduct the cost of a meal from the card and provide the cardholder with a receipt. Estimated Quantities are 20 Each for each one-year base period and four (4) possible one year option periods 3. Magnetic Stripe Cards: These cards should have a magnetic strip and be compatible with the Automated Cash Card Loader, the Card Reader, and Receipt Printer. Estimated Quantities are 20 Each for each one-year base period and four (4) possible one year option periods The solicitation will be available on or after July 22, 2010 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities website http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisitions. The estimated closing date of RFQ-NAS-0195-2010 will be on or about August 5, 2010. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered by this agency. Faith-Based and Community based organizations have the right to submit offers/bids/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. No collect calls will be accepted. No telephone requests or written requests for this solicitation will be accepted.
