Description
SUMMARY OF WORK Replace 82 Exterior Doors at Preserve Headquarters PMIS # 149493 Description: Work to be done at Big Cypress National Preserve Headquarters A, B and C wings. Remove existing doors, repair damaged areas, furnish and install 47 - 3/0 x 6/8 1-3/8, 1 - 3/0 x6/8 1-3/8 w/insert, 2 - 2/0 x 6/8 1-3/4, 25 - 3/0 x 6/8 1-3/4, 3 - 3/0 x 7/0 1-3/4, 2 - 3/0 x 7/0 1-3/4 double/delivery. Flush fiberglass doors, hardware and miscellaneous materials related to project. Remove existing A-wing store-front entry doors and install unit with low E, impact resistant, rated for 140 mph wind, 1 - 57" x 97-1/4" w/side lite, 1 - 55" x 96-1/2" w/2 side lites. Remove 2 hollow metal frame, repair opening and install new frames at C-wing efficiencies Q's # 117 and Q's # 217. Remove all existing cylinder lock-sets and install in new doors. High quality products are to be used, installed using current tools of the trade. The building's are intermittently occupied/vacant, but should assume occupied. Labor, materials and disposal of removed materials shall be included in bid. Note: Removed Steel Doors will be recycled by owner. 1.1 Location: Big Cypress National Preserve 33100 Tamiami Trail East Ochopee FL 34141 1.2 General: a) Special Criteria to vendors: Contractor shall be qualified, licensed and will be required to provide three business and credit references to include names and telephone numbers.b) Prior to job start-up a post-award meeting will be held at the facility to clarify conditions and expectations. The contractor supervisor who will be supervising the daily work is required to attend this meeting. All site inspections and work shall be performed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Government representative. c) Product samples: Suggested products are included in this document, products of equal value may be submitted. Contractor shall present submittals in duplicate, for government approval. Final approval will be made by the National Park Service. d) Colors and samples: the National Park Service will specify color. Contractor shall present specimens in duplicate, for government approval. After approval, one specimen of each will be returned to the Contractor. The approved color shall be that which is installed. Final approval will be made by the National Park Service. e) Arrangements for use of water, sanitary facilities and telephone will be made with the National Park Service representative, subject to approval by the park Superintendent. f) The contractor will provide and maintain all barriers and signage required by law and statute for the protection of the public. g) The contractor will take necessary precautions to keep fire hazard to a minimum; including, but not limited to, daily removal from the area all oily rags, waste and other combustibles not in covered metal containers and provide at least two functional dry chemical fire extinguishers at each job site. h) The contractor shall be responsible for and secure daily, all his equipment, tools and materials at the job site. Buildings where work is to be performed:Big Cypress National Preserve Headquarters"Consist of 3 wings"A-wing / administration offices - 2 aluminum frame entry doors, 5 flush surface exterior doors"B-wing / offices spaces, kitchen, conference rooms - 1 entry w/cut out for lite at kitchen, 35 flush surface exterior doors for others"C-wing / consist of 8 one bedroom apartments, 4 efficiencies - 40 flush surface exterior doors 1.6Completion: a) Work to be completed in 60 days of start date. b) Finished work shall be free of all dust, debris or damage resulting from any activity under this specification. c) All moving parts shall be left in proper working order. d) Damages resulting from the contractor, or his representative's activities, shall be replaced/restored at the contractor's expense. e) On completion, the contractor shall remove from the buildings and sites all materials and debris created by the activity of this project; and, leave the sites in a clean and finished condition acceptable to the National Park Service. f) After completion of work, the contractor shall notify the Contracting Officer and the job will be inspected for final approval before final payment is made.
