- CLARIFICATION: The government is interested in hearing from interested parties who are in possession of activity base cost information for each cycle of loan process, regardless of the type of loan. That is, entities such as academic research/policy firms and industry think-tanks who gather this type of information in aggregate across the credit/financial marketplace. THIS NOTICE IS NOT FOR STUDENT LOAN SERVICERS OR OTHER LOAN-RELATED SERVICES. ----------------------------------------------------------- US Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid is seeking qualified sources of information on the cost and methods utilized by commercial or government firms to intake and process application, originate and disburse loans and grants, service loans (student or otherwise), collect defaulted loans, perform fulfillment services such as scanning or document storage, advertising the availability of the proceeding services to the public, and operating customer care centers. Additionally, the government is interested in any academic research on the maturity and/or capability development of lending institutions including those in consumer credit market on efficiencies of their business processes. Interested parties shall provide an excerpt of the data source with the appropriate redactions of all proprietary and confidential information. This should include the types of data gathered, number and category of sources, and list of customers who have used their data within the past two (2) years. Please submit a detailed narrative that addresses all of these areas (no more than 10 pages, single-spaced at 12-point font size) to me via electronic mail at dega.hussen@ed.gov. Deadline for submission is 2:00pm (EST) on Tuesday, July 13, 2010.
