Description
Cinnamic Acid (CA) Smoke Composition Sources Sought The U.S. Army Office of the Project Manager Close Combat Systems (OPMCCS) is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for a currently existing Cinnamic Acid (CA) smoke composition. The CA smoke composition has approximately 32.5% Potassium Chlorate, grade 2, size 170; 21% Cinnamic Acid; 32.5% Lactose Monohydrate, size 170; 14% Kaolin, size 120 and 2% Zinc Stearate. The CA smoke composition will be consolidated into an aluminum container with burn time no more than 11 seconds. Potential candidates are required to be within the National Technology and Industrial Base (NTIB). Interested sources that believe they can meet the above requirements shall provide the U.S. Army the following: 1.A description of their currently existing item and how it meets the above requirements. 2.A brief summary of their companys capabilities, manufacturing, and testing. The responses shall identify current major manufacturing processes, critical skills and equipment. 3.The organizations Facilities, Equipment, Unique Capabilities, Environmental Concerns, Storage, Shipping, Receiving and other Support Functions. 4.The organizations willingness to make available to the government the material sources and certifications along with the Technical Data Package (production drawings and specifications). Responses should further identify the current Business Structure: 1. Name of Company -- include a contact person's name, company address, telephone number, email address. 2. Company Size (please specify as either Large, Foreign, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business.) The information must be submitted within 30 calendar days from the date of this publication to: Department of the Army, U.S. Army Contracting Command, Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, CCJM-CC, ATTN: Mr. Chris Fotiadis, Bldg. 9, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, E-mail: chris.fotiadis@us.army.mil. This Market Survey is for information and planning purpose only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future productions efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the reults of this survey.
