- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. ASOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BEREQUESTED. The Department of the Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center(SPAWARSYSCEN), Charleston intends to acquire, on a sole source basis, theacquisition of supplies and services, which will be integrated with the JointThreat Warning/Air System (JTWS/Air), (small portable lightweight system), tomeet specific critical design, functional and operational requirementsnecessaryfor Air Force Special Operations Force (AFSOC) mission support. The NAICS Code is 334220 and the Small Business Size Standard in Number ofEmployees is 750. The Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract will have a deliverydateof 06 October 2010. Only one responsible source and no other supplies orservices will satisfy agency requirements as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Theproposed sole source contractor, BAE Systems is the only manufacturer of theCenter Vented Hatch Assemblies. The end user procured the same hatchesfrom BAE in 2009. This is a follow on procurement in support of theOCO/OEF. This procurement is based on the determination that the Government's needcan best be satisfied by supplies and services available from only one source.This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Responsible sourcesmay identify their interest and capability to provide this service byrespondingin writing to our office no later than 30 June 2010 at 8:00 a.m. TheContractingOfficer for this requirement is Lisa Connell at SPAWAR Systems Center(SPAWARSYSCEN), Charleston, SC or e-mail lisa.connell@navy.mil Informationreceived will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determiningwhether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by theGovernment not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses tothis notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephonerequest accepted.
