Description
The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only small business under the authority of FAR 19.5. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Requests can be emailed to Mamie.Jenkins@us.army.mil. The US Army BCT Museum is contracting for the Design, Fabrication and Installation of exhibits telling the history of basic training at Ft Jackson to be installed in the BCT Museum building. This contract is for the design, fabrication, delivery and installation of all the exhibit components. Installation of exhibits shall be accomplished in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, museum and Center of Military History (CMH) standards and the PWS. The museum exhibit plan shall be installed in three complete/stand-alone phases in the renovated BCT Museum building, a structure with a total exhibit space of approximately 7850 square feet. All phases must include the history of BCT from 1917 to present, to be presented in four galleries: WWI, WWII, Cold War, and Current. Each gallery covers 15 topics using a combination of text, graphics, and displays; the number of artifacts on display and components for coverage will vary dependent upon square footage of each phase. For all phases, fabrication will be done with the gallery phase expansions in mind to allow mobility and growth of each of the four gallery areas as square footage increases. The contractor will be required to develop an exhibit design layout of the completed BCT Museum to include lighting, graphics, fixtures and the development of a 3-phased installation plan of the exhibit design layout. The phases will be completed in a turnkey fashion and complete and usable upon completion of each phase. The contractor will be required to transport all fabricated and purchased exhibit components to the US Army Basic Combat Training Museum, install all exhibit components, and assist the BCT Museum staff in the installation of historic objects. This complete exhibit design will become the property of the US government and will be used for future phase installation. Phase I is a 4,090 sq. ft. section of exhibit fabrication and installation, one hologram machine created with available technology, and a Heroes Among Us gallery which will incorporate a mobile conference table and 6-8 chairs. Phase II will incorporate a 1,850 sq. ft. section, and Phase III will add a 1,910 sq. ft. section. All phases will include one hologram machine each created with available technology. The Government has determined the price range for this requirement to be $80.00-$100.00 per sq. ft.
