- RECOVERY-ARRA-MT HOUGH EMPIRE STEWARDSHIP - This project consists of felling, skidding, and hauling of biomass material including piling of residual landing slash on approximately 1012 acres and temporary road construction of approximately 7 miles. The project includes mastication of competing vegetation and downed woody debris, hand thinning and piling of brush, trees and dead surface fuels. The objective is to improve forest health and utilize timber resources. This Stewardship project is located on the Mt Hough Ranger District of the Plumas National Forest, southwest facing slopes of Grizzly Ridge and Indian Falls Ridge, northeast and east of the communities of Keddie, Butterfly Valley, Quincy, and Greenhorn. Estimated start work date is September 1, 2010. Solicitation issue date is July 8, 2010. NOTE: There will be a prebid meeting July 12, 2010, at 9:45 a.m. Meet at the Mt. Hough Ranger Station.
