- Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract to AMI Industries, Inc., dba Goodrich Interiors- Specialty Seating Systems (AMI) for 201-300 mission aircraft seats which meet the USAF Type II Fixed Aircraft Seat Standardization (FASS) configuration. The authority for Other Than Full and Open Competition is FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy the Agency Requirements." AMI is the only manufacturer currently certified to meet the E-6 G-loading requirements and the only vender to manufacture a seat that has passed all requirements of the FASS specification. Therefore, AMI is the only manufacturer able to meet the Government's schedule without substantial duplication of cost. A Solicitation Document is not available at this time. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. If no responses are received within fifteen (15) days, a contract may be awarded without further notice.
