- DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATION/WORK STATEMENT STATEMENT OF WORK PART A- GENERAL INFORMATION A.1.INTRODUCTION- This requirement is for attendance at the University of Kentucky Center for Manufacturing Lean Systems Certification Training for four (4) Quality and Patient Safety personnel. A.2.BACKGROUND- Attendance is required to support the approved Systems Improvement Capability Grant. The aim of this grant is to create a partenership for organizational learning to enhance the Lexington VA Medical Center's System Redesign capabilities to optimize veteran-centered care. A.3.SCOPE OF WORK- The certification training will teach principles of lean manufacturing as they apply to health care. It will begin the development of the Lexington VA Medical Center's own internal support facilitators for the lean *. transformation process. STATEMENT OF WORK PART B- WORK REQUIREMENTS B.1. TASKS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED: Provide critical skill sets to for our team to implement continuous improvement throughout the organization. B.2 SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Continued relationship with Toyota Manufacturing. B.3.CONTRACTOR FURNISHED MATERIALS: N/A B.4.QUALIFICATIONS OF KEY PERSONNEL: Current experience with Toyota Manufacturing. INSTRUCTIONS: C.1. All bids must be submitted by June 29, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. Central Time. Any bids submitted after this deadline will not be considered. C.2.
