Description
Special Notice - Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration 2011 Special Notice This announcement is not a solicitation. N o contract award will be made as a result of this announcement. This announcement is for the Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration 2011 (CWID 2011) scheduled for execution 23 May - 17 June 2011. CWID is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff's (CJCS) annual event enabling the Combatant Commands (COCOMs), Coalition Partners, U.S. Military Services, DOD Agencies and Homeland Security/Homeland Defense organizations (C/C/S/As) to explore and assess commercially available products to solve command and control (C2), communication systems, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capability gaps. While devoted to C2 and ISR solutions, CWID focuses on C2 and leader-centric/net-enabled solutions that the traditional DoD acquisition process is not currently addressing. Each proposed technology demonstration is called an "interoperability trial" or "IT." Additionally, ITs and C/C/S/A representatives are invited to examine known or potential interoperability challenges between participating services, agencies and international participants during the CWID 2011 event with the prospect of finding solutions. CWID is also an appropriate venue for risk reduction and/or validation of fielded/near-fielded commercial and/or DoD systems when appropriate to reduce development costs or production timelines.
