Description
This is a sources sought notice for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD), of Lakehurst NJ, who is seeking potential sources and no cost product information of commercially available, non-developmental Joint Strike Fighter exhaust heat resistant flight deck to be proposed under the Foreign Comparative Test (FCT) program for US Navy ships. NAWCAD intends to initiate a Foreign Comparative Testing Program for the Light fixtures and invite full and open competition. The heat resistant light fixtures shall consist of the following fixtures: Centerline Light: The lights consist of metal support and an environmental cover ensuring the water-tightness, with appropriate gasket. Light source is heat resistant and it is a directional light. The light is dimmable from maximum to near extinction from the dedicated power junction box. Spot Pad Lights: The lights consist of an omni directional source enclosed by suitable shipboard enclosure for deck surface mounting cover ensuring the water-tightness, with appropriate gasket. Light source is NVD compatible in multiple colors. The light is dimmable from maximum to near extinction from the dedicated power junction box. Deck edge lights: The lights consist of a flood lighting source enclosed by suitable shipboard enclosure for deck surface mounting cover ensuring the water-tightness and heat resistance, with appropriate gasketing. Light source is NVD green. The light is dimmable from maximum to near extinction from the dedicated power junction box System Performance a) The heat resistant light fixtures system must be designed for installation and operation on US air capable ship classes expected to support the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). (threshold) b) The heat resistant light fixtures must operate in, and be compatible with, all operational environments associated with its host platform. (threshold) NVD Compatibility The heat resistant light fixtures shall be designed to meet all of the above criteria and be compatible with ANVIS 6 and ANVIS9 night vision devices. The method of presentation for NVD operations shall be designed and demonstrated by the contractor. Logistics and Readiness The heat resistant light fixtures are designated as a non-continuous operating system. The system must, however, be capable of recovery operations at any time in support of helicopter air operations. Logistics support must be available in the required quantities, at the correct time and place, and at the lowest possible cost. Environmental requirements The heat resistant light fixtures shall meet all standard NAVSEA shipboard environmental requirements. All interested sources with qualified systems are encouraged to respond to this synopsis to identify their devices, the qualifications and production status no later than 15 July 2010 and should be forwarded to address indicated on this announcement. All information should be unclassified. The government shall not reimburse the respondent for any costs associated with the information submitted in response to this request.
