Description
PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE AND SITE VISIT NOTICE The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) maintains a worldwide telecommunications distribution infrastructure consisting of complex satellite gateway facilities around the world operating numerous satellite systems and including fiber optic and microwave interconnects. The BBG is seeking a contractor to provide a Global Monitor and Control (M&C) system that will be capable of providing accurate and timely information about: (i) the operating conditions of the BBG global network; (ii) any deterioration in performance on any link, system or subsystem; and (iii) automatic activation of local station and BBG global backup systems. Additional details on this requirement will be included in the Request for Proposal (RFP) Solicitation No. BBG50-R-10-0007 that is expected to be issued on or around July 8, 2010. The BBG will conduct a Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit on July 8, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM EDT at the Cohen Building located at 330 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20237. Interested offerors shall submit a list of attendee(s) to the individual's e-mail set forth at the end of this FBO notice no later than July 5, 2010. If you register to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit and cannot attend, please immediately notify the individual set forth at the end of this FBO notice via e-mail. Attendance at the Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit is not mandatory, although offerors are strongly encouraged to attend. At the Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit, BBG will provide: (i) a brief presentation of its solicitations requirements; (ii) information about how to view the RFP on-line; and (iii) a Site Visit. Those interested offerors who are unable to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit may request BBG to conduct an additional Site Visit between July 12-15, 2010. Please note that BBG will make every effort to accommodate such requests, but will not guarantee that such requests will be honored. To be eligible for award, offerors must be actively registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). In order to register with the CCR and to be eligible to receive an award, all offerors must have a Dun & Bradstreet number. A Dun & Bradstreet number may be acquired free of charge by contacting Dun & Bradstreet on-line at www.dnb.com/eupdate or by phone at (800) 333-0505. All offerors are also required to complete online representations and certifications at HTTP://ORCA.BPN.GOV. Questions pertaining to the Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit as well as requests to register to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit shall be forwarded to Mr. Berel Dorfman via e-mail bdorfman@bbg.gov by 5:00pm EDT on July 5, 2010.
