Description
The U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement for the production of the Army Combat Shirt (ACS). The Government intends to award an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract with one (1), three (3) year ordering period. The Army is anticipating awarding 3 year IDIQ contracts with an overall minimum of 480 items per contract and a maximum of 500,000 garments combined from all contracting actions.. Delivery orders for all contracts combined, will not exceed the program ceiling of $42,500,000.00 The Government will award a contract to each vendor that submits an offer that meets the Product Description and demonstrates a cost savings over the current Army Combat Shirt. These items will be used for a user evaluation and options will be awarded upon an acceptable user evaluation for production. The ACS will not replace any garment currently in the US Army supply system. Instead it will supplement current Army issue. The ACS will maintain or increase the level of Fire Resistant (FR) protection while reducing weight and bulk, improving comfort and therefore increasing user acceptance. The ACS will provide increased moisture management capability over the FR Army Combat Uniform. The ACS will be compatible with all individual Soldier tactics, techniques, procedures, and individual equipment. The ACS is designed to be worn with the Improved Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV). The North American Industry Classification code is 315299. This requirement will be a 100% 8a Small Business Set-Aside. The size standard is 500 employees. The Request for Proposal will be posted on the Natick Contracting Centers website; www3.natick.army.mil, on or about 07 July 2010. Questions may be addressed to https://Stephen Abate via email at stephen.abate@us.army.mil.
