Description
Market Survey For Information Technology Enterprise Solutions3Hardware (ITES-3H) 1. Purpose. To perform market research on subject requirement IAW FAR 10. The U.S. Army Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS), in coordination with the National Capital Region Contracting Center (NCRCC), manages contracts to support the Armys requirements for information technology, including hardware, software, and related integration services for providing end-to-end solutions for server, storage, and network environments. Market research is being conducted to determine if commercial sources capable of satisfying the agencys requirements exist and determine the practices of firms engaged in supporting the commercial items. The information collected through this market survey, to include small business capabilities, will be used to develop the acquisition strategy for ITES-3H. 2. Scope of Requirement. The Government seeks to acquire state-of-the-art equipment and related services, including integration, under the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions -3 Hardware (ITES-3H) contract procurement for worldwide use in support of the Army. The ITES-3H contract vehicle is to provide Commercial Items as defined in FAR 2.101 that are compliant with DoD and Army policies and regulations. The ITES-3H contract will consist of multiple commercial Catalogs. Commercial Catalogs are defined as catalogs that include commercial items as defined in FAR 2.101 that are regularly maintained by the manufacturer or vendor, is either published or otherwise available for inspection by customers, and states prices at which sales are currently, or were last, made to a significant number of buyers constituting the general public. The scope of each Catalog is defined as follows: 2.1 Catalog A UNIX Based Servers. UNIX platforms with multiple core Intel/AMD or equivalent processors. To include items that directly support the provided platforms (e.g., various processor clock rates, high availability components, internal storage devices such as hard disk drives and optical drives, memory modules and upgrades, video cards, network interface cards, expansion bays, multimedia devices, interface adapter cards, internal cables, processor/motherboard upgrades), mounting racks, cabinets, power supplies, power adaptors, clustering devices, warranty variations, and operating systems/licenses not covered or provided under existing Government enterprise agreements. 2.2 Catalog B Windows Based Servers. MS Windows Server platforms with Intel/AMD or equivalent processors. To include items that directly support the proposed platforms (e.g., various processor clock rates, internal storage devices such as hard disk drives and optical drives, memory modules and upgrades, video cards, network interface cards, multimedia devices, interface adapter cards, expansion bay, internal cables, processor/motherboard upgrades), mounting racks, cabinets, power supplies, power adaptors, clustering devices, warranty variations, and operating systems/licenses not covered or provided under existing Government enterprise agreements. 2.3 Catalog C Workstations, Thin Clients, Desktops and Notebooks. Workstations consist of platforms with Error Check & Correcting (ECC) memory and SCSI Drives. Assorted platforms with Intel/AMD (or equivalent) processors. Included are internal items that directly support the proposed platforms (e.g., various processor clock rates, internal storage devices (hard disk drives and optical drives), memory modules and upgrades, video cards, network interface cards, multimedia devices, interface adapter cards, expansion bay, internal cables, processor and motherboard upgrades), keyboard/mouse, portable storage devices, memory cards, power strips, USB hubs, card readers, speakers, external connection cables, expansion chassis, monitors, power adaptors, warranty variations, and operating system/licenses not covered or provided under existing Government enterprise agreements. 2.4 Catalog D Storage Systems To include items such as various storage arrays, storage area networks, various JBODs (Just Bunch of Disks) configurations, various sizes of hard disk drives, storage cables, adapters, storage expansion cabinets, storage network bridge devices, power supplies, power adaptors, firmware, tape backup devices, optical backup devices, tape and optical media, warranty variations and related commercial storage software products not covered or provided under existing Government enterprise agreements 2.5 Catalog E Networking Equipment. To include items such as managed and unmanaged switches, hubs, gateways, routers, wireless networking devices, Everything over Internet Protocol (EoIP), associated cables, adapters, firmware, memory upgrades, interface cards, power supplies, power adaptors, expansion bays, service packs, warranty variations, and related network management software products not covered or provided under existing Government enterprise agreements. 2.6 Catalog F Network Printers. Network printers, scanners, supporting devices (e.g. hard disk drives, memory and upgrades, network interface adapters, cables, input trays, duplexers, output bins), power adaptors and warranty variations. Various network cables (metallic and optical) to include cable trays, various cable bends, connectors and cable tray hangers. 2.7 Catalog H Video Equipment Products. Includes Video Teleconferencing Equipment (VTC), standalone displays (Plasma, LCD, HDTVs) larger than 21 inches, and projectors to include ancillaries and warranty variations. 2.8 Catalog J Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), power strips, line conditioners and warranty variations. 3. General Contract Requirements. 3.1. Contractor Qualifications. The Army prefers prime contractors and manufacturers of required servers, workstations, thin clients, desktops, notebooks, networking hardware, etc. who use standardized quality managed processes that are certified, registered, and audited such as ISO 9001:2008, Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), etc. 4.
