- Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg intends to solicit proposals for uniform rental and cleaning services. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price, requirements-type contract. Quantities will be estimated. This acquisition will require the contractor to furnish all necessary labor and materials to provide Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA 17201, with clothing rental, cleaning, clothing repair, dump containers, and laundry bag services. The clothing items include ARC Flash Coveralls, Chemical and Acid Resistant Shirts and Pants, Flame Retardant Coveralls with and without Pockets, Insulated Coveralls, Flame Retardant Shirts and Pants, and Seasonal Chemical and Acid Resistant Shirt and Pants, Navy Blue Coveralls with Zipper, Flame Retardant Navy Blue Coveralls, Seasonal 100% Cotton Shirts and Pants, Bath Towels and Wash Cloths, Laundry Bags and Dump Containers, and Government-Owned Bulk Coveralls. The Contractor shall be responsible for keeping the ARC FLASH clothing separated from the STANDARD clothing, as this specific type of clothing must be kept separated and then washed according to very stringent methods for Industrial Laundering of Flame, Thermal, and Arc Resistant Clothing to prevent the drop in protection values. All quantity details and specifications will be included in the solicitation document. Interested vendors should contact Claudette Lyons, Contract Specialist by email at claudette.lyons@us.army.mil. The formal solicitation will be issued on or about July 14, 2010. The estimated closing date will be on or about August 13, 2010.
