Thermo Fisher currently manufactures the only commercially available dust monitor (PDM 3600) that has been approved by MSHA to be intrinsically safe for use in underground coal mines. Thermo Fisher developed the PDM 3600 under contract with the National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) and is currently the sole manufacturer and seller of the item.
