Description
Solicitation VA-241-10-RP-0335 on the Steam Tunnel Steam Line Repairs Response to Questions 1.Please clarify the responsibility for supplying fuel to temporary boiler. Will the VA provide the fuel from its existing supplier or is it the contractor s responsibility?? If by the contractor, shall this be carried as a lump sum, an allowance, or a unit price per gallon?? Also if by the contractor, please furnish the demand loads of the existing steam system for purposes of estimating the required fuel consumption for the temporary boiler. Response 1 Please make your proposal based on the contract documents. 2.Please confirm the wall thickness specification for all proposed permanent piping?? Response 2 Please make your proposal based on the contract documents. 3.Is the proposed permanent pipe to be ERW or seamless?? Response 3 Please make your proposal based on the contract documents. 4.Please provide specifications for all proposed valves. Response 4 Please make your proposal based on the contract documents. 5.Is the contractor responsible for radiographic testing on pipe welds?? If so, what percentage of welds must be tested?? Response 7 Please make your proposal based on the contract documents. 8.On the project plans, it appears that drawings T-1, A-1, & A-2 are 24 x 36 (sheet size). However the remaining drawings are sheet size 11 x 17 . It appears that when the drawings are scaled, that all sheets should be 24 x 36 . Please confirm that the plan sheet sizes are correct. Please clarify if this measurement refers to length of the piping or the length of tunnels. I am currently looking over the project specifications for the Steam Tunnel Asbestos Abatement Project. I am only finding the general condition specifications. I can t find any specifications on project materials or procedures. For example, I can t find the specification on asbestos removal or pipe materials. Could you tell me if the files are missing from the website or where I could find them. Response 15 Please make your proposal based on the contract documents. 16.Instead of core drilling through roof of Doghouse, could louver be removed and temporary pipes ran through opening? This would eliminate the need for the precise blocks and associated steel work.
