- Special Notice: The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), National Reconditioning Center (NRC) is awarding a Purchase Order for the repair services of the following equipment: 30 each Sensor, Ice Free Wind (IFW) ASOS Model 425NWS (WS425D7A1C) ASN: S100-2A8MT3A2 to Vaisala, Inc. Sole Source Justification: The Government only knows of one source, Vaisala, Inc., Market research is the following: Multiple searches of the Small Business Administration (SBA) Dynamic Small Search did not identify any small business available to compete for this service. Search parameters included a combination of: NAICS codes ‘334511 and 334519' and key words ‘repair ice free wind sensors, Vaisala', and just key words - ‘repair ice free wind sensors', ‘repair ultrasonic wind sensors', and ‘ultrasonic wind sensors'. Searches of "Repair ice free wind sensors" and "Repair ultrasonic wind sensors" in GSA's eLibrary also returned no matches. On April 13, 2010 and May 7, 2010, a sources sought was posted on FedBizOpps for 10 days and no responses were received from either of these postings. The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), National Reconditioning Center (NRC) is awarding a Purchase Order for the repair services of the following equipment: 10 each Probe/Transmitter Assy for DTS-1, PN: DTT1, ASN: S100-2MT4-3A1A1 to Vaisala, Inc. Sole Source Justification: The Government only knows of one source, Vaisala, Inc., Market research is the following: Multiple searches of the Small Business Administration (SBA) Dynamic Small Search did not identify any small business available to compete for this service. Search parameters included a combination of key words: ‘repair dewpoint sensors, Vaisala, Vaisala sensors, repair Vaisala sensors, Vaisala DTS 1, DTS1'. Searches of ‘repair of dew-point sensors, Vaisala Dew-Point Sensors' and ‘Vaisala DTS1' in GSA's eLibrary also returned no matches. On May 14, 2010, a sources sought was posted on FedBizOpps. A modification was made to the posting on May 18, 2010 to change the response date to 7 days instead of 10 days since there is no stock. No responses were received from these postings.
