- The US Forest Service, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is seeking a contractor to renovate the Hope Valley Campgrounds in the Carson Ranger District near Markleeville, CA in Alpine County. The estimated range is between $250,000- $500,000 dollars. It is available for full and open competition under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. SCOPE OF CONTRACT - May not be all-inclusive; see following specifications, drawings, and schedule of items for specific quantities and parameters. This project includes: Base Bid: a.Removing existing spurs, roads, site furniture, utilities, and other existing site features as designated. This shall include obliterating and recontouring compacted areas not covered with new features. b.Updating and replacing water distribution system. A new well and holding tank have already been installed. Tie in new waterline, yard hydrants, valves, and drains into the existing system. c.Reconstruct aggregate roads, spurs, parking areas, curbstops, and culverts. d.Construct new family units, tent pads, and pathways. Install signs, gates, bear-proof food lockers, and unit markers. 2.Optional Items: a.Install concrete picnic tables with inlaid redwood seat. b.Install pedestal utility tables. c.Install pedestal grills. d.Install campsite fire rings. e.Install tent pad border and surfacing. f.Install 3-panel kiosk. Solicitation package including all specs, drawings, clauses, terms and conditions, as well as all forms needed to provide and offer will be available at this site on or before June 18, 2010. ATTENTION ALL POTENTIAL BIDDERS. I WILL BE TRYING TO POST a Solicitation within the next couple of hours, but in case it doesn't get posted in time, please be aware that the pre-bid/site visit meeting will BE HELD ON THE WORK SITE OF THE PROJECT!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE SPARKS SUPERVISOR'S OFFICE. I am posting the drawings and specifications NOW, and will hopefully follow with the solictation today. We apologize for the last minute notice, and hope to still see as many of you as possible. The time and date remain the same. 0930 on Monday, JUNE 14, 2010. The site of the meeting is Hope Valley Campground: The project worksite is located in the Carson Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Alpine County, California, in Section 7, T 10 N, R 18 E. It is located approximately 24 miles south of Minden, Nevada. The project may be accessed from Blue Lakes Highway.
