- R1 IMAT, Nez Perce National Forest Salmon River Heritage Project Presolicitation Description The contract will require one primary cultural resource task involving the updating/re-recording of previously recorded archaeological/historical sites along the Wild and Scenic river corridor of the Salmon River. All sites will be recorded on State of Idaho site forms and evaluated for their National Register eligibility. The results of this field work will be included in a professional report (one for each task order issued) summarizing all aspects of field work, findings, and relevance for greater archaeological interpretation/association and scientific understanding. No archaeological excavation is allowed under this contract. We anticipate award of an IDIQ contract in 2010 with renewal options for 2011 and 2012. For 2010 we anticipate that 15 sites will be updated/re-recorded. The Salmon River Wild and Scenic river corridor is 1/2 mile wide (1/4 mile on each side of the river). Access to this corridor and related sites are generally achieved via the use of jet boat. The Mackay Bar road will, however, allow vehicle access to the central area of the IDIQ corridor along the right bank of the Salmon River. The pack bridge across the Salmon River near Mackay Bar will also allow foot-travel to certain areas along the left bank of the Salmon River.
