Description
RDECOM BAA 10-035A1 The government has received numerous questions on the call for white papers RDECOM BAA 10-035 concerning the Joint Fires and Effects Trainer System. Simulation and Training Technology Center (STTC), as a part of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) is tasked with pursuing technologies that blur the distinctions between live and virtual training. As such the JFETs project office has identified a problem that was outlined in the original call for white papers that falls under the open Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) W91CRB-08-R-0073 Topic 3. Dismounted Soldier Training Systems and tasked STTC RDECOM to seek a solution. The call for white papers is designed to identify industries capabilities to solve the problem posed in the call for white papers. Interested parties can propose a variety of solutions if they deem them appropriate. Because this is advanced R&D EFFORT prospective companies that intend to submit a solutions to the problems outlined in the white paper should have a rudimentary knowledge of systems of this type, so they can properly address the problem as outlined, however offerors are not required to possess this knowledge to submit a white paper. Most of the information about the system can be easily found by searching for Joint Fires and Effects Trainer System on public web search engines. If potential respondents have general questions about the problem that was outlined in the White Paper or the BAA process they must submit their questions in writing via email to pat.garrity@us.army.mil and Richard.Boast1@us.army.mil no later than 14 June 2010 and the questions and responses will be posted on 16 June 2010. The call for white papers is limited to US companies only. Any responsible offeror capable of satisfying the objectives identified in announcement RDECOM BAA 10-035 may submit a white paper. White Paper submissions are encouraged as early as possible but must be received at RDECOM STTC no later than 1600 EDT 18 June 2010. Per the original announcement, no extensions will be granted.
