- Description
- DESC plans to award a Firm Fixed-Price Requirements-Type Contract to procure an estimated 40 each WOOD SHORING KITS and an estimated 200 sets of SHORING KIT COMPONENTS (Front Sleeper Shoring, Parking/Landing Gear Shoring, Rear Bumber Shoring) over a two-year period from October 2010 through September 2012. The shoring material is used to stabilize helium tube trailers during military airlifts. The anticipated contract will be FOB Origin. This procurement is 100% set aside for SBA Certified HUBZone Firms. DESC will provide all of the plywood and lumber for the production of the shoring kits and component kits. The Government will order a guaranteed minimum for fabrication of complete shoring kits as follows: 10 each in year one and 10 each in year two. The solicitation will be issued July 1, 2010 and offers will be due on July 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM local (San Antonio, TX) time. The solicitation and resulting contract will include clause INT-I209-09 EXTENSION PROVISIONS (DESC JUL 2009). This clause is a type of option that allows the Government to extend the contract period of performance for up to six (6) months with the same terms and conditions on a unilateral basis. Said 6-month option extension will be evaluated prior to contract award.
