Description
This solicitation is being advertised under full and open (unrestricted) competition. Areas of Road Work in Colorado and Wyoming: Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park Colorado National Monument Curecanti National Recreation Area Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument Fort Laramie National Historic Site Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve Project Details: This project provides pavement preservation of the paved surfaces in the seven Parks listed above. The Project is broken into one Schedule and six Options, one Schedule or Option for each of the Parks. The total amount of work is approximately 320,000 square yards of chip seal and 530,000 square yards of micro-surfacing. Other aspects of work include pavement patching, crack filling and pavement markings. Schedule A contains the work for Colorado National Monument in Mesa County near the City of Grand Junction. The quantities of work at this Park are approximately 37,800 square yards of chip seal and 338,000 square yards of micro-surfacing. Other items of work include 1,300 square yards of pavement patching, 57 miles of crack filling and 526,000 linear feet of pavement markings. Option U contains the work for Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Montrose County east of the City of Montrose. The quantities of work at this Park are approximately 135,800 square yards of chip seal and 121,000 square yards of micro-surfacing. Other items of work include 500 square yards of pavement patching, 21 miles of crack filling and 176,000 linear feet of pavement markings. Option V contains the work for Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Alamosa County north of the City of Alamosa. The quantities of work at this Park are approximately 80,000 square yards of chip seal and 44,000 square yards of micro-surfacing. Other items of work include 30 square yards of pavement patching, 2 miles of crack filling and 116,000 linear feet of pavement markings. Option W contains the work for Curecanti National Recreation Area in Gunnison County west of the City of Gunnison. The quantities of work at this Park are approximately 55,000 square yards of chip seal and 132,000 square yards of micro-surfacing. Other items of work include 400 square yards of pavement patching, 23 miles of crack filling and 122,000 linear feet of pavement markings. Option X contains the work for Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site in Otero County to the east of La Junta. The quantity of work at this Park is approximately 7,000 square yards of chip seal. Other items of work include 1 mile of crack filling and 6,000 linear feet of pavement markings. Option Y contains the work for Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument in Teller County south of the City of Florissant. The quantity of work at this Park is approximately 10,000 square yards of chip seal. Other items of work include 2 miles of crack filling and 15,000 linear feet of pavement markings. Option Z contains the work for Fort Laramie National Historic Site in Goshen County of Wyoming. The quantities of work at this Park are approximately 4,000 square yards of single chip seal, 7,500 square yards of double chip seal and 7,000 square yards of micro-surfacing. Other items of work include 50 square yards of pavement patching, 2 miles of crack filling and 18,000 linear feet of pavement markings. The project is scheduled to advertise on or after June 25, 2010. Estimated cost for the base schedule and 6 options is $2.0 to $5.0 million.
