- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI): THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This RFI is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information received in response to this RFI and is in no way obligated by the information received. The U.S. Army Test Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland is seeking manufacturers with extensive background and experience in the design and manufacture of aviation onboard handheld fire extinguishers. Manufacturers experience must include the ongoing manufacturing and supplying of handlheld fire extinguishers currently mounted in commercial commuter aircraft and must include US military aircraft applications. At the least, the manufacturing experience of the aviation onboard handheld extinguisher must have taken place for the last 10 years up to and through the current date. Manufacturers with prior government contract experience for the manufacture and supply of hand held aviation use extinguishers is desirable. Manufacturers of aviation extinguishers that are currently not being used on aircraft, system extinguishers and distributors of aviation extinguishers need not respond. Responses to this RFI should include a one page description of the manufacturers experience to include both the aircraft applications where your extinguishers are currently in service as well as the model numbers for your extinguishers currently being used in each of these applications. Please include aviation handheld product descriptions and/or website(s) where this aviation handheld product description information is located. Responses should also include your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax, web address, and e-mail address and CAGE Code. Follow-up requests for feedback should not be made through the Fed BizOpps posting agency. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed information. Submittals: Information about a particular brand/product should be submitted via email by 12:00 PM EDT, on 18 June 2010 to Kevin.Dowell@us.army.mil.
