- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI): THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This RFI is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information received in response to this RFI and is in no way obligated by the information received. The PEO Aviation, AMCOM, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama is seeking potential sources or manufacturing companies that have the knowledge and expertise to provide two (2) grades of ultra fine sodium bicarbonate powder (SBC) and/or show the capability to develop the manufacturing process needed to produce the SBC and to provide it within times specified. The specifications for the SBC are as follows: Specifications for SBC-1: Bulk Density: less than 0.45 g/cc Particle Size: less than 5um Water Content: preferably 100ppm but no more than 400ppm SBC purity greater than 98% (USP or food grade desired) Anti-caking agents acceptable but not required. Specifications for SBC-2: Bulk Density: less than 0.05 g/cc Particle Size:less than 100 nm Water Content: preferably 100ppm but no more than 400ppm SBC purity greater than 98% (USP or food grade desired) Anti-caking agents acceptable but not required. Responses to this RFI should include a one page description of your companys capabilities, previous and current contract experience and a sample of your product, if applicable, along with a product analysis from an independent third party laboratory. Responses should also include your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax, web address, and e-mail address and CAGE Code. Follow-up requests for feedback should not be made through the Fed Biz Ops posting agency. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed information. Submittals: Information about a particular brand/product should be submitted via email by 12:00 PM EDT, on 18 June 2010 to Kevin.Dowell@us.army.mil. Put RFI Bicarbonate in the e-mail subject line. Submissions may also be sent by mail to: Mr. Kevin L.
