- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue a solicitation to Raytheon Company/Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) of Tucson, AZ, 1151 East Hermans Road, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337 for procurement, on a sole source basis, of required, additional Design Agent Engineering and Technical Services in support of the MK 15 Close-In Weapon System (CIWS). CIWS includes the Phalanx, the SeaRAM, and the Land-based Phalanx Weapon System. The scope of the effort will be provided via Technical Instructions. RMS is the sole contractor capable of producing the highly complex MK 15 CIWS and is the only known source that possesses the requisite knowledge and expertise to provide the services covered herein.See Note 22
