- Description
- Limited capacities at the existing Confined Disposal Facilities (CDFs) and delayed implementation of a long-term solution for dredged material management have led the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District to evaluate potential beneficial uses and alternative sites for placement of sediments dredged from the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, Ohio. Sites within the immediate vicinity having the potential for the beneficial re-use of significant quantities (i.e. 1,000,000 CY or more) of sediment are preferred. Previous evaluations have indicated that material dredged from the Cleveland Harbor should be acceptable to use in a construction, industrial, or commercial setting. The material may not be acceptable to use in residential or ecosystem restoration settings without further site-specific testing and evaluation. If you own a property in the Cleveland area and may be interested in accepting dredged sediments, please provide the address of your location, details on the type of facility, and the capacity of your storage facility.
