- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue an Invitation for Bids for a firm fixed price construction contract for Control Upgrade and Modernization of a Gantry Crane at the Nimbus Powerplant. The Nimbus Powerplant is located on the American River approximately 20 miles northeast of Sacramento, California in Sacramento County. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 and the related small business size standard is $33.5 Million. The solicitation will include HUBZone Price Evaluation Preference procedures as described in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 19.1307. The principal components of work are as follows: A. Nimbus Powerplant 50 Ton Capacity Gantry Crane: 1. Remove and dispose existing equipment: a. Five existing hoist, trolley and gantry motors b. All control equipment from crane control cabinet enclosures c. Control cabinet enclosures above cab d. Load cells for hoist hooks e. Cable festoon system f. Trolley equipment enclosure 2. Furnish and Install new equipment: a. Motors for hoists, trolley, and gantry b. Cab control console and two wireless radio control stations c. Variable frequency drive (VFD) controls for all hoist, trolley, and gantry drives d. Cable festoon system, including cables, wiring, and electrical conduit e. Load cells for main and auxiliary hooks f. Exterior lighting system g. Trolley equipment enclosure h. Grounding and bonding conductors and other miscellaneous equipment to complete electrical installation 3. Refurbish: a. Gantry drive brake system b. Trolley wheels and rails to improve traction c. Crane structural frame 4. Perform load tests and operation and maintenance training The estimated cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This procurement will require 100% performance and payment bonds. Solicitation R10PS20196 will be posted at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or around July 1, 2010. The estimated date for receipt of bids is August 1, 2010. The solicitation and specifications will need to be downloaded at the above site, with the drawings being mailed to you by hardcopy. No paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed with the exception of the drawings. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Annual Representations and Certifications, as required by FAR 4.11 and 4.12, apply to this procurement. Prospective contractors must be registered prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
