Description
This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) from interested sources. All responses to this RFI are voluntary and at the contractor's expense. The Government is seeking qualified sources with specific, recent experience with Area Distribution Node (ADN) Equipment Installation. The objectives of this effort include but are nor limited to:1)To plan, provide, and install remote communications equipment capable of providing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS);2)To use the capabilities of existing buildings to the fullest extent possible; 3)To provide an acceptable test plan and conduct testing in accordance with that plan.4)To provide training; 5)To satisfy all DoD and commercial standards for installation, commissioning, physical security, and information assurance. The attached 'draft' Performance Work Statement (PWS) establishes and defines the requirements to engineer, furnish, install, secure, test (EFIST) a solution to migrate TBS users in a phased approach from the existing remote telephony equipment to Voice over Internet Protocol serviced from an existing Nortel Assured Services 5300. The solution includes a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON), AS5300 expansion, telephone sets, outside plant, inside plant, DC power plant, and optical transport. Industry responses to this RFI may determine the Government's acquisition strategy. Responses shall explain in detail: 1)The contractor's specific and unique experience in performing EFIST and training for ADN Equipment Installation described in the PWS in accordance with standards outlined;2)A Rough Range of MagnItude (ROM); 3)The contractor's comments to the draft PWS; 4)A reference list of related DoD contracts within the past three (3) years, to include contract number, dollar va! lue, a brief description of services, and points of contact with phone number;5)Cite existing GSA or other Government contracts, if applicable. This RFI and the attached draft Performance Work Statement is for information and planning purposes only and it does not constitute a solicitation and should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Interested parties having the required experience and skills to meet all the above requirements are invited to submit a capability statement via Email to Sheryl Wright, Contract Specialist, at sheryl.wright1@usmc.mil by June 11, 2010. The reference number is M6890910TBSQT.
