Description
The United States Air Force, 88th Air Base Wing, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio 45433-5344 is preparing to solicit for a firm-fixed price contract for one dual axis tomography holder and one on axis rotation tomography holder. The contract line items will be firm-fixed price. Proposal equipment shall meet the requirements contained in the specifications below: 1. Quantity of one (1) dual-axis tomography holder with the following functionalities: a. Shall have the ability for room temperature applications when TEM Tomographic imaging or analysis requires in-plane rotation of a specimen. b. Has a fully jewelled mechanism for ultra-precise specimen movement, which should yield highly repeatable specimen rotation, while maintaining eucentric height. c. Must be able to rotate initial specimen fully through 360 degrees, d. When specimen is properly oriented, a two-position precision mechanism must allow for 90 degree in-plain rotation. e. Specimen must be clamped by FlexiClamp to maximize specimen viewing area, even at high tilt angles. f. Must feature optimal title angle range. 2. Quantity of one (1) on-axis rotation tomography holder a. Must be able to accept sharp-pointed, conically-shaped specimens such as those prepared using FIB technology, or those used for atom probe field ion microscopy. b. The specimen should be maintained in a cartridge on the axis of the holder. c. A manual drive must allow full 360 degree rotation of the specimen. d. When rotational orientation is established, the mechanism must lock and a three-position click-stop facilitates indexing the specimen in 120 degree increments. e. At every interval the transmission electron microscopy's goniometer shall be used to capture the tilt series. Allowing full 306 degree information to be obtained from the specimen. f. The specimen cartridge shall be: 1. Precisely positioned with respect to the electron beam; 2. Ejected for ease of specimen loading; and 3. Retracted into the body of the holder to protect the specimen during loading into and removal from the goniometer. Delivery for this equipment should be 2-4 weeks after receipt of order (ARO). FOB Destination. We intend to award this contract sole source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered. The proposed source is E.A. Fischione Instruments, 9003 Corporate Circle, Export, PA 15632.
