- Parts List for MQ-8B Fire Scout Aluminum Scroll Fan The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Schweitzer Aircraft Corporation, Horseheads, NY for the acquisition of various components for the Aluminum Scroll Fan used on the MQ-8B Fire Scout aircraft. A parts list detailing the components is attached to this posting. This piece of peculiar support equipment is an impeller fan used on the MQ-8B Fire Scout to cool the oil in the engine. The Government intends to procure the Aluminum Scroll Fan components under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c)(1), FAR 6.302-1. The Government does not own current data, drawings, or other specifications to permit full and open competition. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
