- The work includes demolition of the timber relieving platforms at Wharf 1000 and the Barge Basin; excavation, stockpiling, and disposing of contaminated soils; construction of a steel sheet pile bulkhead and crushed concrete revetment at Wharf 12000; construction of a steel pile bulkhead, crushed concrete slope protection, concrete wharf supported by steel h-pile and concrete piles with concrete fender piles and mooring hardware at the Barge Basin; associated modifications to storm water drainage, site work, and paving; and incidental related work. The contractor will be required to obtain, at the contractor's expense all appropriate construction permits including but not limited to permits from the Army Corps of Engineers, PA Department of Environmental Protection, and all other applicable permits. The approximate solicitation release date is 28 May 2010. The estimated cost range is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 and the size standard is $33.5 million. Bidders shall submit with their bid, a 20% bid bond not to exceed $3,000,000.00. The solicitation is an Unrestricted Procurement. Large Business concerns are required to submit a subcontracting plan prior to award of the contract. This will be a firm fixed price contract and the performance period will be Three Hundred Eighty (380) calendar days after notice of award. This solicitation contains a clause for experience on at least two (2) prior projects in the past five (5) calendar years which include similar types of waterfront construction, including both above and below water (tide) elevation. This solicitation is available in electronic format only. All documents will be in the Adobe Acrobat PDF file format via the internet.
