- Description
- The U.S. Navy is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to determine availability of software that processes a complex data stream provided by the Reconnaissance Airborne Pod for TORnado (RAPTOR) that is carried by the GR-4 aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF). The software must either be: 1)Portable to Navy-owned personal computer based imagery processing system; Or 2)Convertible via re-compilation, and deliverable as source code. It is assumed that the software will operate in a ground station (GS) and be used to convert signal data received over a digital radio frequency (RF) link, i.e., data link, into pixel and support data for images in a STANAG (Standard NATO Agreement) or National Imagery Transmission Format (NITF) type file. The Navy's objective is to utilize any prior development of such software that would facilitate its conversion to, and implementation within a Distributed Common Grown System (DCGS) that could be deployed globally, both afloat and ashore. The submission of this information is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any items/services, or for the Government to pay for information received.
