- Description
- The Forest Service is requesting proposals for replacement and upgrade on Republic Ranger District Office, building # 2019, remove and replace existing composition roofing (approx. 7150 SF) and sheathing. The building is 5 years old and exhibiting moisture related failures of the roof system. Excessive moisture intrusion combined with insufficient attic ventilation appears to be the cause of the roof system issues. The current roof system has wings with gable ends and the main part of the building is vaulted roof system. Work includes furring up the roof, re-sheathing with plywood, enhancing ventilation; re-flashing roof, installing baffled ridge vents, replacing fascia, reroofing with standing seam metal roof and humidistat controlled fans in gable end walls. There also will be a bid alternate for reroofing with composition roofing. Contract performance time is 60 days. Work will need to be done in phases so building is not exposed to the elements. The job site is located on the Republic Ranger District compound in Republic, Washington, Ferry County. Solicitations will be available on or about May 25, 2010.
