Description
RECOVERY ACT - THE NASA GLENN RESEARCH CENTER (GRC) HAS UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERYAND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 TO ISSUED A WORK ORDER FOR TESTING, FACILITIES, OPERATING,MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING UNDER THE PREVIOUSLY AWARDED, COMPETITIVE, 8(A) CONTRACTNNC05CA95C WITH SIERRA LOBO INCORPORATED. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONPURPOSES ONLY.NASA Glenn Research Center procured engineering services to develop control systems forthe Engine Icing Capabilities Enhancements at the Propulsion Systems Laboratory, Building125. This development work encompasses the engineering of control logic, computerprogramming and documentation related to process systems that are being installed at thefacility. The development of these control systems is necessary for the safe and reliableoperation of the process systems. Development of these control systems contributes to thedevelopment of a system capable of simulating altitude icing conditions experienced byaircraft during flight. By providing this icing simulation capability, NASA and itsengine industry partners will be able to further the understanding of effects of icingconditions on engine performance and safety. This understanding is critical to thedevelopment of safer and more reliable aircraft engine systems.THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. A cost-type (AF/AT) work order is appropriate for this procurement because the uncertainnature of the research/testing support activities required cannot be estimated to thelevel of accuracy necessary to allow the use of a fixed-priced contractual vehicle.NNC10QA19DNAICS CODE: 561210ESTIMATED DOLLAR AMOUNT (Contactor Estimate): $74,925.00
