- Solicitation Number: AG-0489-S-10-0506 Notice Type: Presolicitation Synopsis: RECOVERY– Sparky Hazard Tree Felling – Sparky Fuels Description: RECOVERY - THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. This purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation number AG-0489-S-10-0506 on or about June 7, 2010, for hand felling of hazard trees in the Bend/Fork Rock Ranger District on the Deschutes National Forest; located in Deschutes County, Oregon. The resulting contract will utilize funds provided by the AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) OF 2009. Interested parties are notified that the inclusion of unique provisions required in implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency, will be required of the successful offeror. When the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective offerors should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after May 20, 2010, to obtain a copy of the request for quotes. PROJECT DESCRIPTION – It is the purpose of this solicitation to secure services on the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District for: the hand felling of hazard trees along 16.8 miles of road. Work includes the hand felling of snags and designated snags and live trees that are deemed a hazard within 125 feet or 165 feet from the outside edge of the road surface. Contractor shall be responsible for the coordination between their fallers/workers and the State and/or County agencies that shall provide traffic control in the work areas. Traffic control may include flaggers, pilot cars and/or the closing down of portions of the highway while work is in progress. The State and/or County shall determine the proper method of traffic control. Contractor shall coordinate work schedules with State and County agencies. PARTICIPATION: This acquisition is determined to be 100% set aside for Small Business. The North American Classification System Code (NAICS) is 115310. The size standard is $17.5 Million.
