Description
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Departmental Management, Management Services is issuing this Sources Sought Notice to update our market research in anticipation of a follow-on Delivery Order with Computer Associates (CA) or BMC Software for software maintenance. USDA intends to migrate to only one product, either CA or BMC. Our previous market research, for CA, which occurred approximately three months ago, found that CA's software is copyrighted by CA and no other source has been authorized to provide licenses, maintenance, and technical support. CA has informed us this has not changed since our last market survey. Our previous market research, for BMC found that some BMC's partners are unable to provide licenses, maintenance, and technical support for certain products. Software maintenance services include telephone technical support, problem resolution, and product updates/new releases, as explained in the CA GSA Schedule GS-35F-0823M for SIN 132-34 and the BMC GSA Schedule GS-35F-5237H for SIN 132-34. The follow-on delivery order will be for one year with 4 option years. Any vendor responding to this sources sought who can demonstrate they can fulfill this requirement must provide written information on their company's ability and current software to meet this requirement. Information should be submitted to the Contract Specialist, Monica L. Taylor, referencing this sources sought notice by Monday, May 24, 2010. Contact information is as follows: MonicaL.Taylor@dm.usda.gov. The products include: CA- ESP Workload Automation, ESP Encore Workload Automation, Workload Automation System Agent, CA Workload Automation, ESP Workload Auto Database Agent, ESP Workload Auto High Availability, and ESP Workload Auto Service Govenor. BMC- Control-D, Control-M for z/OS, and Control-M/Restart
