- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm fixed Price Purchase Order to Maisley Enterprises of Wilmington DE, for Purchase sizing data, hand forms, and measuring tool which will be used to size soldiers hands, develop new gloves to a standard, conform existing gloves to a standard, and quality check production gloves. This effort will procure the only available sizing standard from industry. This one time research and development effort utilizes a current manufacturer utilizing their unique current system. The government performed a Request for Information (RFI) December 2009 and informed other members of industry of the intent to search out a solution for standard sizing during the annual DOD Glove Industry Technical Committee Meeting on 21 November 2009. A (RFI) for an existing sizing system was posted and closed 24 December 2009. There was only one response to this request, Maisley Enterprises Inc. This one time effort will be used only to obtain the sizing system and all related data. Procurement of additional hand measurement tools will utilize full and open competition. This system will also provide a standard to which the Government can procure all future gloves on a full and open competition basis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, via e-mail at stephen.abate@us.army.mil. no later than 25 2010, 12:00 pm EDT.
