Description
The Alabama Air National Guard located at Birmingham IAP ANG, Birmingham, Alabama, intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract for construction services, non-personal to provide for all labor, transportation, new and current materials, tools, parts, equipment, appliances, supplies, services, permits, insurance and supervision necessary to perform and complete the renovation in accordance with plans and specifications for PROJECT NUMBER: BRKR102007 To repair fall restraint system in Hangars 135 and 138. The project is a Repair to the Fall Restraint Systems in the hangar bays of Buildings 135 & 138 at Birmingham Air National Guard in Birmingham, Alabama. The repairs are to meet all applicable OSHA requirements for the Fall Restraint Systems. The work will include demolition and installation of structural elements inherent to the Fall Restraint Systems. Any existing finishes that are affected within these spaces will be replaced with new finishes to match adjacent conditions prior to substantial completion. Magnitude of the project is between $100,000.00 and $150,000.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this work is 238110. The size standard is $14.5 million. Failure to submit a bid on 2 LINE items shall result in rejection of the bid. Construction/contract completion time is anticipated to take approximately 180 days from notice to proceed. This action is being procured on a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE basis in accordance with the FAR 19.502-2. All responsible small business firms may submit a bid. The tentative date for issuing the solicitation is on-or-about 1 June 2010. The tentative date for the pre-bid conference is 2 Jun 2010, 10:00 a.m. central time at the Birmingham ANG Base Civil Engineering, Building 700 with site inspection to follow. All interested contractors are encouraged to attend and should be aware of the requirements for admission to the base. The solicitation is scheduled to close on 23 June 2010. Actual dates and times will be identified in the solicitation. The solicitation and all associated information will be posted at www.fedbizops.gov All contractors and subcontractors interested in this project must register at this site. No telephone requests will be accepted. Interested bidders as well as plans rooms must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Firms can register via the CCR Internet site at http://www.ccr.gov or by contacting the CCR Information Center at 1-888-227-2423. Interested bidders are also required to submit their representations and certifications on-line at http://orca.bpn.gov. You will need your DUNS number and CCR MPIN in order to log in to the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) website.
