- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER SERVICE DISABLED VETERANS OWNED SMALL BUSINESS PROGRAM FOR CONSTRUCTION NAICS CODE 238210. RECOVERY ACT: The Department of Veterans Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System, 2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105 anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Recovery Act: Replace 4800V Generator, Project 506-10-102." The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (Sealed Bidding) and Part 36 (Construction) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The contractor shall remove the existing 1500 KW, 4800 Volt Generator located on the south side of the facility and install a new 1250 KW, 4800 Volt Generator inside the facility. Included in the project is the removal of all associated parts and equipment of the 1500 KW generator such as the pad, wiring, and controls. The existing underground storage tank is to remain and be removed under a different contract, but this contract shall do all work necessary to isolate the tank and prevent soil contamination. The final result will be a fully functional 1250 KW generator including all associated wiring, controls, switchgear, electrical equipment, fuel line installation, and structural work to result in a fully functional system. The contractor shall make all arrangements to have the new generator installed and fully operational prior to demolition of the existing generator, keeping the timing of the switchover from the existing generator to the new one to a minimal. The contractor shall apply for and obtain a Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Permit to Install. This shall include all necessary air tracking and discharge information necessary for permit application as well as all other necessary actions required in obtaining the permit. Information on specifics of the permit is available on the Michigan DEQ website. The period of performance is 180 calendar days for the entire project. The cost range of this project is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. NAICS Code: 238210 Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors. The solicitation documents including specifications and drawings will be issued on or about February 25, 2010. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of the solicitation. Only one site visit will be conducted. Bids will be due approximately 30 days after issuance of the solicitation. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. No bidder list is maintained by the Contracting Office. All potential bidders should register on this website as interested vendors.
