Description
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work consists in furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, appliances, materials and performing all operations in strict accordance with the specifications and the applicable drawings, and subject to the terms and conditions of the contract. The following is a list of the principal features of the project as described in the specifications, shown, noted or implied upon in the accompanying drawings, showing the general characteristics and extent of the work. Parts not specifically detailed shall be constructed in a manner and spirit conforming to the class of work required for the whole project. The work consists in Replace and Install a new 80-ton Chiller Unit at Bldg 80, Muñíz ANG Base. Existing chiller feeds 4 air handling units (AHU) of various capacities to remain. Scope of work Remove existing 80-ton TRANE water chiller and dispose or recycle in accordance with Local and Federal law. Efforts to recycle any recyclable material should be made. Provide evidence of any recycling material. Remove existing components from chiller and install at similar chiller unit at Bldg 12: controls display module, compressor unit, salvage serviceable parts to use later as spare parts as coordinated with Base HVAC Technician Remove water from the existing chiller and dispose locally within base premises. Assume non hazardous content. Recovery of refrigerant from existing chiller unit, dispose/recycle according with Federal and Local Laws. Submit the disposition certificate IAW State Law 416 from a certified HVAC technician. Provide and install new 80-ton chiller in the same location as the old one. Refer to drawings for details. New unit must be completely compatible with existing TRANE HVAC system and similar in dimensions. New unit must be high efficient in IAW Department of Energy (DOE) Standards. Coil: aluminum fins. Adapt piping to the new unit. Apply Anticorrosive Treatment: MicroGuard® AD35 HVAC/R Coil & Fin Clear Protective Treatment (ADSIL) or similar, IAW ASTM B-117 exceeding over 6,000 hours. Provide ADSIL treatment certification for a 5-year warranty. The estimated cost this project is between $100,000 to $250,000. Solicitation should be available on or about 26 May 2010. whit opening date 25 June 2010 10:00 AM. A pre-bid meeting or site visit is schedule for 17 June 2010 10:00 AM.
